Here’s how we define dependants

Dependant child

A person who is a child of a policy holder, under the age of 18, and does not have a partner. A Dependant child can be on any Family or Sole Parent cover.

Student Dependant

A Student Dependant is a child of the policy holder who does not have a partner, is aged 18 to 30 (inclusive), and is studying full-time at a school, college or university, or is a first or second year apprentice. They can remain on any Family or Sole Parent cover at no additional cost.

To declare your child as a Student Dependant simply log in to the Member Centre and select 'Student Declaration' under the 'My Account' tab and follow the instructions.

Non-Student Dependant

A child of a policy holder, who does not have a partner, is aged 18 to 30 (inclusive), and is not a full-time student at a school, college, or university, or a first or second year apprentice. Non-Student Dependants can be included on all available covers at an increased premium.

If your child stops studying, you can keep them on your policy as a Non-Student Dependant until they turn 31. Or help them to take our their own CBHS Corporate policy by calling us on 1300 586 462.
